February Photos

I know this is a week late, but the photos were actually taken on February first. As to why it's a week late, well, I could blame it on the compelling book I was reading for my book club. But, really, I need to just chalk it up to being lazy.

Anyway, February doesn't look that much different from January. This winter has been unseasonably warm, though we are starting to get little bits of snow here and there. No snow has stuck on the ground for more that 24-hours, but I have enjoyed it nonetheless. Actually, our one decent snowfall I had planned to document with photos, but didn't get to it until after we had a play date with some friends. The kids went out in the backyard to play in the snow and then the yard looked terrible, so I decided not to. If we get another snowfall of any substance, I'll make sure to document it.

Without further ado:
Our path. In another month or so there should be crocus blooming between the stones.

Wisteria on the stairs.

Wisteria on the deck. (This is one of our major projects for the spring. The vines need a way to climb to the upper part of the deck.)

Forsythia beginning to leaf out. (Yikes! Too soon; too soon!)

Cherry tree and back corner.

The tragic demise of Sven, our garden gnome.

Corner near the compost.

Crape Myrtle Spiral.

Pansy. A tiny bit of color to brighten the winter garden.

Japanese maple with my (stolen) moss.
